Welcome to the Bank of Scotland Veterans Football Club website!
Who are we??
Formed in 1985, Bank of Scotland Veterans Football Club (BOSVFC) is an amateur football club based in Edinburgh.
Whilst the name might suggest (a) all the members work for Bank of Scotland and (b) all are of advanced years, neither of these statements are true. Our members span a wide age group but one thing we have in common is that we are all employees (or retired employees) of Lloyds Banking Group.
The club was originally established to allow older employees of Bank of Scotland the opportunity to play in representative matches - this is where the club name originated from. Since those early days the club has gone from strength to strength, and now boasts over 100 members. With Bank of Scotland now being part of LBG, the club is open to employees of the enlarged group.
We run a team that plays in the Edinburgh and Lothian Amateur Leagues (Bank of Scotland Strollers).
We have a Veterans team (consisting of older club members and/or ex Strollers) who play a smaller number of games per year against other chronologically challenged teams!!
As a club, we regularly travel overseas to play teams from other countries.
We have an active social scene, including annual dinners, race nights and regular nights out.
